Courses

Molecular Genetics is the study of genes and the manipulation of their function in order to explore important biological questions.  The Department of Molecular Genetics offers a variety of courses at both the Undergraduate and Graduate level.  From introductory to advanced, these courses teach students how genes are expressed to control biological functions from cellular activities to development, as well as how gene deregulation contributes to disease.  Through Molecular Genetics coursework students will also gain an understanding of the techniques used by Molecular Geneticists to manipulate gene function, and an appreciation for modern methods of experimentation in important model organisms and genetic systems.
