Dr. Zheng Xia performed his graduate work on machine learning algorithm development and biological data analysis applications at Zhejiang University in China. In 2011, he joined Dr. Wei Li’s lab at Baylor College of Medicine where he has published 16 papers, including highly collaborative, high-profile works in Nature, Molecular Cell, and Nature Communications. He has mainly focused on RNA-seq analyses, bioinformatic tool development, and epigenetic regulation of cancer, and is currently exploring the role of alternative polyadenylation in cancer. His extensive collaborations include fruitful associations with Drs. Tom Cooper (Baylor), Eric Wagner (UT Health Science Center), and Steven Balk (Harvard Medical School). Dr. Xia plans to develop and apply novel computational and systems modeling tools for complex and large-scale data analyses and to establish multidisciplinary collaborations to investigate RNA-centric computational cancer biology.
