Ohio State is in the process of revising websites and program materials to accurately reflect compliance with the law. While this work occurs, language referencing protected class status or other activities prohibited by Ohio Senate Bill 1 may still appear in some places. However, all programs and activities are being administered in compliance with federal and state law.

STILSA (Students in Life Sciences Abroad)

STILSA

(Students in Life Sciences Abroad) is a global and cross-disciplinary education program whose mission is to promote the study abroad experience with a particular focus on the biological sciences. STILSA offers unique, accessible, and transformative educational experiences abroad to students. In an increasingly globalized world economy, STEM students need to be equipped with cross-cultural perspectives and intercultural competence to be successful in the workplace. By immersing students in science on a global scale, STILSA aims to promote their retention in STEM, transition into the workforce, and long-term success. To best prepare students for their professional journey, STILSA deployed several educational activities in partnership with universities and companies in continental France (Sorbonne Université, Paris-Saclay, 2tonnes), the French West Indies (Université des Antilles), Colombia (Pontificia Universidad Javeriana), Norway (Norwegian University of Science and Technology and Kelpinor), Brazil (University of Sao Paolo, Visagio, Agrivalle) and Belgium (University of Liège and Odisee). The activities offered under STILSA are open to all STEM majors and to both degree-seeking and graduated undergraduate and master students.
