Erin Murray (Zoology) enjoying Norway’s beautiful nature (TRONDBUSS Summer 2024). Erin studied the effect of sound pollution on crustaceans living in the fjord.
Grace Whitmore conducting research in the lab of Daniela Sueldo at NTNU (Summer 2025).
Laurel Fleszar (Molecular Genetics) and Pranav Jois (Mathematics and Physics double major) in Norway (TRONDBUSS Summer 2024). Laurel studied neural networks in the brain of zebrafish and Prana researched how to develop methods to calibrate metabolic models for bacteria based on flux balance analysis.
Mariana Correia (Biomedical Engineering) and Emily Raiff (Molecular Genetics) in front of the Eiffel tower (STILSA-France, Summer 2024). Mariana did research at Sorbonne U. on modeling neurodevelopmental disease caused by defects in RNA silencing in the fruit fly. Emily was at U. Paris-Saclay and studied assembly of respiratory complexes in fission and budding yeasts.
Sophia Costantine (Biology Major) in “Jardin des plantes” in Paris with members of her lab in Sorbonne U. They took her out for her birthday! Sophia was the recipient of a Center for RNA Biology fellowship and a STILSA participant (Summer 2025)
Sophia Costantine (Biology major) presenting her research on Argonaute-linked neurodevelopmental disease and the use of drosophila to understand the basis of such dysfunctions. Sophia did research in the group of Dr. Carré at Sorbonne U.
Jillian Philippo (Biomedical Engineering), Grace Whitmore (Entomology) and Abi Singstock (Molecular Genetics) in front of Hovedbygningen (main building) at NTNU during Summer 2025. At NTNU, Grace studied plant adaptation to stress, Abi researched the neural network in zebrafish and Jillian joined a group interested in complex macromolecules as possible biomaterials.
