Accelerator grant to Guramrit Singh and Venkat Gopalan

Gopalan and Singh

Guramrit Singh and Venkat Gopalan will serve as co-PIs on an accelerator grant from the Center for Cancer Engineering at OSU. These grants provide seed funding that enables and invigorates new interdisciplinary collaborations that bridge engineering and physical sciences with basic studies of cancer biology.

Entitled "Evaluating the molecular basis of breast cancer from disproportionate expression of ribonucleoprotein subunits", the grant will examine how altered expression of components of ribonuclear complexes (functional complexes that contain both protein subunits and functional RNAs) affect the development of breast cancer.

The Curing Cancer Through Research in Engineering and Sciences (CCE-CURES) program is a collaboration integrate engineering and data analytic approaches with cancer biology and fundamental science to enhance cancer prevention, detection, diagnosis and treatment.

Congratulations to both!
