Congratulations to Susan Cole and Venkat Gopalan who were recently awarded an Innovative Project Award from the American Heart Association. The grant entitled "Elucidating the unexpected regulatory overlap between a tRNA and a segmentation clock protein in dextrocardia" will allow the labs to assess potential role(s) for altered tRNA processing in the development of laterality defects, including a rare cardiac condition where the heart is found on the right side of the chest (dextrocardia).
