You can watch Dr. Hopper discuss her long-term interest in what tRNAs are and they have to do with protein synthesis in the cytoplasm? She also discusses the surprising phenomenon of tRNA retrograde nuclear import in which tRNA travels back from the cytoplasm to the nucleus. Her lab works to better understand that process and the role it plays in numerous biological functions.
