Anita Hopper named Distinguished University Professor

Congratulations to Dr. Anita Hopper who was named a Distinguished University Professor in a surprise announcement on March 18. The award was announced by Helen Malone, Vice Provost for Academic Policy and Faculty Resources, Patrick Louchouarn, Senior Vice Provost for Faculty, Dean Susan Olesik from the College of Arts and Sciences, and Susan Cole, Chair of Molecular Genetics.
The Office of Academic Affairs awards the permanent, honorific title of Distinguished University Professor on to at most three professors each year who have truly exceptional records in teaching, research, scholarly or creative work and service. This is the highest faculty accolade awarded at OSU. Distinguished University Professors automatically become members of the President’s and Provost’s Advisory Committee and are awarded a $30,000 one-time grant to support their academic work.
