Congratulations to Adriana Dawes

Adriana Dawes

We are delighted to announce that Dr. Adriana Dawes has been promoted to the position of Full Professor. Dr. Dawes has a joint appointment in Math and Molecular Genetics, and her lab uses a combination of theoretical and experimental approaches to study how cells polarize by segregating lipids, proteins and other molecules to discrete domains that are biochemically and physically distinct. Polarization is crucial for a wide variety of cellular processes including embryonic development, neurogenesis, directed motility and epithelial cell function. Using the early embryo of the nematode C. elegans as a model, Dr. Dawes has pioneered theoretical and experimental approaches to investigate polarization to uncover fundamental aspects of this conserved biological process. We are so proud to have her as a colleague.
