We are delighted to learn that Jared Talbot, former postdoc from the Amacher lab, was recently awarded the Chi-Bin Chien Award by the International Zebrafish Society. This award recognizes outstanding early career researchers who have made significant contributions to the field of zebrafish research and who have exhibited the generosity and openness that characterized and motivated Chi-Bin Chien.

Jared was a productive and generous postdoctoral fellow with Sharon Amacher, and was awarded a Distinguished Undergraduate Mentorship award by the University in 2017. In 2019, Jared was appointed as an assistant professor in the School of Biology and Ecology at the University of Maine where his lab studies the dynamic signals that control muscle development, from progenitor specification through cell migration, fusion, and differentiation.
