At the 159th Annual Meeting of the National Academy of Sciences, Dr. Anita Hopper was formally inducted as a member of the Genetics and the Cellular and Developmental Biology sections of the Academy. During the ceremony, she was introduced and signed the "Registry of Membership." Her election in recognition of her distinguished and continuing achievements in original research is considered one of the highest honors that a scientist can receive. We are proud to have her as a valued colleague.
