Congratulations to Craig Burd
We are delighted to announce that Dr. Craig Burd has been promoted to the position of Associate Professor with tenure. Dr. Burd's laboratory studies the molecular mechanisms which govern steroid receptor activity and how these processes are deregulated in cancer. His group is especially interested in the roles of estrogen and estrogen receptors in breast cancer and in melanoma and in the effects of endocrine disruptors in cancer development. He is currently funded by two R01 grants from the NIH, and has been noted for his excellent teaching and mentoring. The Cancer Genetics course he developed with Christin Burd is a popular and rigorous elective, and he currently serves on the Molecular Genetics Graduate Studies Committee. Congratulations Craig, we are lcuky to have you in the Department!
