Congratulations to Keith Slotkin who has received notification that a large ($4,189,994, 4-year duration) Plant Genome Project "Functional Geneomics of Maize Gametophytes" will be funded by the NSF. The lead PI is Evans from the Carnegie Institute at Stanford and the co-PIs are Fowler (Oregon State U), Volbrecht (Iowa State U), Auger (South Dakota State U), and MG's own Slotkin.
