Molecular Genetics at the Science Olympiad!

On Saturday 26th, Ohio State University hosted the Ohio Science Olympiad State Tournament, where 80 teams of 6th through 12th graders who excelled in their regional competitions came to compete in over 20 different STEM events for the chance to win a spot in the National tournament. Molecular Genetics hosted a table at the tournament STEM Expo on Friday night and Saturday. We thank undergraduates Pia Delouri and Meera Rajagopal, graduate students Lauren Levesque, Anna Lubertozzi, Nels O’Connell, and Ian Santiago, and faculty member Sharon Amacher for volunteering at the table and the Dawes, Simcox, and Amacher labs for supplying the embryos and larvae for viewing. Department Charis Susan Cole took part in the awards ceremony on Saturday evening. We were thrilled to meet Ohio’s up-and-coming STEM scholars and their families!
