Molecular Genetics joined many OSU and Columbus area groups that participated in the COSI Big Science Celebration on Saturday, May 3^rd. We provided hands-on activities for the general public at our “FUNdamentals of Genetics” booth, including microscopy of live samples (zebrafish embryos, fly and worm larvae, and plant pollen) and Punnett square activities. Despite the dreary weather, families braved the rain and came out to enjoy the exhibits. We thank undergraduates Kirti Chopra and Crystal Finzer, graduate students Caleb Gooden, Nels O’Connell, and Ian Santiago, and faculty Sharon Amacher, Amanda Bird, Greg Booton, Craig Burd, Susan Cole, Anna Dobritsa, and Harald Vaessin, for engaging our community in STEM!
