The department is delighted to announce the hiring of Dr. Jaime Sabel who joined us in Autumn 2024 as an Associate Professor and the Director of the Center for Life Sciences Education.  Jaime joins us from the University of Memphis where she was an Associate professor. After training in developmental biology, Jaime became interested in the science of learning and has devoted her research program to educational research, with interests in the importance of metacognition in success and persistence in STEM and the roles of Course based Undergraduate Research Experiences.
