Congratulations to David Mackey who is a co-investigator on a new grant from the NSF entitled "Developing an intracellular protein delivery system for in planta protein-protein interaction studies" Working with PI Guo-Liang Wang and colleagues Deihua Pei and Maria Palazzi, the Mackey lab will help develop an intracellular protein delivery system to enable study of proteins delivered into plant cells in a physiologically relevant context, by leveraging a highly active membrane translocation domain, MTD4. This will facilitate future studies of how proteins interact inside plant cells, which plays a vital role in how plants grow, adapt, and defend themselves against pests and environmental stresses.
