PRE accelerator award to Hay-Oak Park and colleagues

Hay-Oak Park

Congratulations to Hay-Oak Park whose President's Research Accelerator Grant entitled "Uncovering a conserved role of cell polarity signaling in cellular aging using budding yeast and hematopoietic stem cell models." was recently awarded. Together with co-PIs Bradley Blaser (Assistant Professor, Hematology, COM) and Yoonkyung Lee (Professor, Statistics, ASC) Dr. Park's lab will use multiple systems including baker's yeast to examine cellular aging. Aging is a universal feature of life, yet the molecular drivers of cellular aging are poorly understood. This project effectively combines single-cell imaging and single-cell transcriptomics through collaborations to uncover a conserved mechanism underlying cellular aging.

Fun fact, Dr. Bradley Blaser is a former Molecular Genetics student who worked in the Park lab as an undergraduate student!

Congratulations to Hay-Oak!
