President’s Research Excellence Accelerator Grant to Susan Cole and Colleagues

Susan Cole

Congratulations to Susan Cole who is the Principal Investigator on a recently awarded Accelerator Grant from the 2022 President's Research Excellence program entitled "Cis-inhibition of Notch pathway activity in development and disease: Identification and analysis of novel ligand receptor interactions". Together with collaborators Tom Magliery (Chemistry and Biochemistry), David Carbone (Cancer Biology and Genetics) and Christopher Lucas (Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering), Dr. Cole will examine the importance of cell-autonomous protein interactions in regulation of the Notch signaling pathway. The researchers have identified unrecognized roles for the Notch ligand DLL3 in modulating signaling in development and disease. This project will use developmental and cancer biology, biochemistry, and engineering approaches to study novel protein domains mediating receptor-ligand interactions in the Notch pathway.

Congratulations to all!
