We are so proud of Ruben Petreaca whose work was recently highlighted in the Columbus Dispatch and the Marion Star! Working together with two colleagues in Chemistry and Biochemistry at the Marion Campus (Ryan Yoder and Renee Bouley), Dr. Petreaca is examining how protein complexes act to repair DNA damage, and how errors in these repair processes can lead to cancer. The group has been funded by the National Institutes of Health to take on this project, taking advantage of the highly collaborative nature of science research at the Marion Campus. The project will additionally support numerous undergraduate researchers, exposing them to cutting edge science early in their careers.
