Congratulations to Dr. Patrice Hamel who was recently awarded a Dean's Innovation Fund Global Initiatives Grant. This funding will help support and expand the STILSA (Students in Life Sciences Abroad) program, an umbrella initiative that supports mentored student research experiences abroad. . In 2023/24 six students took part in for-credit paid research opportunities in Norway and in France in the field of neuroscience, plant biology, genetics, systems biology, environmental science and RNA biology for periods ranging from 30-90 days. The new grant will allow Dr. Hamel to expand the program to serve additional undergraduates and additional host institutions, including sites in  Colombia, Spain, Belgium and the Caribbean.
