Congratulations to Margot Kossmann Williams, who was just awarded a new NIH grant entitled "Transcriptional networks for embryonic time keeping".

As an embryo develops, it adheres to a strict schedule of developmental events… but how does an embryo keep time? With co-PIs Dr. Cristian Coarfa at Baylor College of Medicine and Dr. Arne Lekven at University of Houston, this award will allow the Williams lab to investigate the role of gene expression in keeping developmental time. Specifically, they will test whether gene expression responds to developmental timing, directs developmental timing, or both.
