To celebrate women in science, Bionomous is highlighting the women who have provided the foundations for research using zebrafish as a model system. We are delighted that Dr. Sharon Amacher has been highlighted for her contributions, with a focus on her lab's work developing techniques that allow accurate germline genetic engineering of zebrafish. Dr. Amacher's research focuses on skeletal and muscle development and disease, and we are delighted to see her honored along with Nobel laureate Christiane Nüsslein-Volhard.
