Ruben Petreaca, a new faculty member in the Department who teaches at the Marion campus, was awarded an R03 grant entitled “Development of a novel genetic assay to study dna double strand breaks” Dr. Petreaca is interested in how the inaccurate repair of DNA damage contributes to carcinogenesis.

Congratulations to Amanda Simcox who is a co-PI on a four-year NIH grant entitled “Next-generation Drosophila cell lines to elucidate the cellular basis of human diseases.”  In this collaborative project with colleagues at Harvard, the Simcox group will use new methods to generate cell lines
