Molecular Genetics at the COSI Science Festival

The Department hosted a booth about the "FUNdamentals of Genetics" at the first ever COSI BIG Science Celebration. Under the leadership of Sharon Amacher, faculty members Greg Booton, Susan Cole, Anna Dobritsa, and Guramrit Singh, and Harald Vaessin along with graduate students Pooja Gangras and Monica Mannings met with lots of intrepid science lovers who weren’t afraid of a little rain! Our visitors got to talk about model organisms and CRISPR, meet some zebrafish and Arabidopsis, and play Punnet Square games to learn inheritance patterns.
