Meriam Waqas from Christin Burd's lab was awarded a Scholar-In-Training cash award from the American Association for Cancer Research to attend the Advances in Melanoma meeting in September.
Shubha Suresh from the Osmani lab won a Poster Award at the Cellular and Molecular Fungal Biology Gordon Research Conference held in June. Cash awards were given to the two best poster presentations.
The Winge-Lindegren Address is a "thought provoking perspective given by a leader in the field of yeast genetics" at the YGM meeting that occurs biennially; it was held in Seattle, July 29-Aug. 3, 2014.
